Acre and Rust Clothing Company is a farm lifestyle clothing company with designs that honor the close community and rich heritage of agriculture.  They aim to create and design apparel that is not only attractive and high quality but also nostalgic and thoughtful. Acre and Rust is devoted to the family farm. They strive to give back through spreading awareness of issues farmers face and supporting organizations that focus on farmers’ physical and mental health.

We sat down with Chelsea Criswell, one of the owners of Acre and Rust Clothing Company, and asked her some questions about their amazing store. To read more, follow along with the interview below:

How did the Texas Panhandle become your home?

Chelsea: Ty, my husband, is the designer, and was born and raised on a farm just outside of Plainview. I am a city girl from the Dallas metroplex. We met in college and there was no question that we would move back to Plainview and continue growing the farm and a family.

Can you tell us about your mission for Acre and Rust and how your business is a one-of-a-kind shopping experience?

Chelsea: Ty, the designer, was born and raised on the farm. It’s in his blood. All of our designs are created by him from his passion for agriculture. We want people who wear our clothes to feel a sense of pride knowing they are honoring the farming culture in America. Acre and Rust is devoted to the family farm. We strive to give back through spreading awareness of issues farmers face and supporting organizations that focus on farmers’ physical and mental health.

What do you love most about owning a business in Amarillo?

Chelsea: The people. People in the Texas panhandle are our kind of people. They are kind, hard-working, and look out for one another. They support agriculture and the importance of it.

What makes being part of From 6th Collective so special?

Chelsea: From 6th Collective is an all-in-one shopping experience and has brought us new customers from all around the area. We are honored to serve Amarillo and the surrounding communities!

How do you like to spend your free time? Any hobbies or interests?

Chelsea: When we aren’t at work, we are usually chasing our 3 children around and trying to keep them entertained. We enjoy visiting the mountains in New Mexico and going to the horse races.

What are you looking forward to for the rest of 2024?

Chelsea: We are looking forward to growing our clothing options throughout the year! We are planning to have more outerwear options this fall and winter!
