I get excited when it’s time for a new Local Love feature. Nothing beats getting to proudly crush over a small local biz doing their thing. Especially when they’re doing it well! I introduce to you, Rocket Brews. 

Before opening Rocket Brews, the founders Alex Morales and Jesse Murguia started a restaurant, Recreo, that had the same fun and artsy aesthetic, but the long hours didn’t amount to the success they’d hoped for. They both had day jobs at the time and still felt a strong pull to follow their dreams. That dream happened to be Rocket Brews. 

Set on the Historic Route 66, the two and their team serve up fun daiquiris, micheladas, and Mexican botanas (snacks) to-go. If you can’t beat the crowd, you’ll probably find yourself in a line wrapped around the building and down the block. That’s just how good it is!

I must admit that I look up the menu hours before even arriving at Rocket Brews because there’s so much to choose from! But if I’m anything, it’s definitely a snacker. Their kettle cooked potato chips with lime and Valentina sauce and cucumber michelada topped with cacahuates (Japanese peanuts), cucumber, beef jerky are my go to.

But if you aren’t a fan of tomato juice and beer, they make a next-level daiquiris that can be customized with your favorite toppings! They don’t stop there though. Bring a party tray to your next small gathering. These beers are rimmed with mouth-watering chamoy and tajin and include shrimp, cucumbers, beef jerky, and sliced limes. The ultimate snack and beers in one!
