We sat down with Lacynda Hunter, the owner of The Flying Pig Mercantile, and asked her some questions about her store! To read more, follow along with the interview below:
What makes your business a one-of-a-kind shopping experience?
Lacynda: Our goal is to offer unique gifts and products that set us apart while also supporting other small businesses in town. We want customers to shop not just at our store, but throughout Dalhart, helping our community thrive.
Also, eight months after moving into our brick-and-mortar location in 2018, we expanded by adding a coffee shop, creating a space where people can shop, sip, and enjoy. Our mission is simple: One Gift ~ One Cup ~ One Experience.
What do you love most about running your business in Amarillo and being part of From 6th Collective?
Lacynda: I love being a part of From 6th Collective! Every time we’re there, we get to see and visit with friends from Amarillo and the surrounding area.
The staff at From 6th is always welcoming and helpful, creating a supportive and friendly atmosphere. Even though we’re in and out most of the time, they always make us feel like part of the team.
When you’re not at work, what hobbies or passions keep you inspired and energized?
Lacynda: I love spending time with family, especially our grandkids. I love traveling, exploring mom & pop coffee shops and brick & mortars, and cooking.
What are you most excited about in 2025? Will there be any sales or special promotions?
Lacynda: In 2025, I’m looking forward to growing sales and hoping for success for all small businesses.
