Still Water Studio is a one-of-a-kind boutique with a mix of handcrafted custom floral arrangements, unique gifts, decor, and vintage finds. This eclectic mix of new, old, creative, and unique items makes it a truly special destination to shop!

We sat down with Sheryl Franks, the owner of Still Water Studio, and asked her some questions about her unique boutique orginally located in Borger, TX. To read more, follow along with the interview below:

What is your favorite part about being a business owner in Amarillo, TX?

Sheryl: The people here have a strong outlook on life and are ready to step up and help as a whole community when a need arises. A vision of expansion and optimism to become a notable Texas city is shared by the majority of people here. As a business owner, you want to be where people are actively spending & supporting local growth.

While you have a thriving business located in Borger, you decided to create a second location at From 6th Collective. Can you tell us your favorite part about having the second location at the Collective?

Sheryl: The collective/collaborative foundation of high-quality retailers within a common shopping space. An established (and growing) customer demographic that is more in line with my custom/handcrafted botanical creations, decor pieces, & one-of-a-kind finds. The clientele here expect a top-end product selection and shopping experience. The concept of collaboration is appealing to me. Maybe I don’t carry a certain product, but one of my fellow vendors does. Sharing what we each have to offer helps drive people into our home building. This helps to expose all of our businesses to new customers as a whole.

Whenever you have a moment of free time, what do you enjoy doing? Any hobbies or interests?

Sheryl: I stay very active. I deeply love the time spent with my family. I love my animals and the outdoors.I enjoy all things design-oriented. So landscape gardening, remodeling projects, etc. I like changing things into a new color or concept of use. I’m very hands-on.

Is there anything special you want to share about Still Water Studio or any plans you have for the rest of 2024?

Sheryl: Still Water Studio is based on Psalm 23:2. My studio represents my creative working space. I am very grateful for my God-given gifts and abilities and I want my business to be an expression of my faith. The 23rd Psalm describes beautiful, calm, and peaceful surroundings. A place of refuge and safety. A reminder to appreciate the wide variety of blessings we experience every day. I like for my studio and retail space to have a relaxed, home-felt atmosphere that helps customers understand the importance of creating a sense of peace and restfulness within their own spaces. Surrounding themselves with things that are special to them emphasizes the fact that it’s often the simple things that bring the most joy.

In 2024 I am excited to finally be in a position/location to unlock the full potential of my business. No more small-town mentality. It’s a big world out there.
