Today we’d like to introduce you to the woman behind the lens at The Collective. We first met Joanna Robertson through a friend and while we weren’t exactly sure what aspects of the company we should document at the time, we knew her work was something that spoke to us. Her style adds a light + dreamy spin on everything. A major bonus in our opinion is that she loves to shoot on film too.

Joanna is the real deal when it comes to knowing about all things Texas. We had never worked with a photographer that brought so much to the table when it came to styling assistance, knowledge of the land around our area, and small town connections.

The first time we worked together was for a “Pretty Patio Party” setup we created at my own home and shot for Amarillo Magazine. We spent half the time setting up & taking photos, but the other half we spent getting to really know each other. Turns out we both share a deep appreciation for ranch style, antiques, and Mexican flair. That’s why our business relationship instantly turned into a personal friendship. She’s continued to be our main photographer ever since. She’s responsible for the images from our Collective Cowgirl series, our interior design projects, and will now become our “house photographer” at The Collective. That means you’ll be seeing her work on our feed a lot more.

But that’s not all! Joanna’s love for beautiful spaces dates back far before her current adventure with film photography. We’re over the moon that at The Collective, her passion for home design + photography are able to collide in a new gallery space fittingly labeled, RanchHaus by Joanna Robertson. The space will feature artfully curated photographs from her very own fine art studio, bringing a little bit of the West to your walls! Under her RanchHaus label, she will also carry western inspired stationery, home goods and vintage items!
