inhale, exhale. Ok, so it’s time for another round of real talk about the new project. I recently received good news from the bank, the contractors, and some of our suppliers meaning that we are FINALLY ready to begin construction! We’ve officially secured several materials for the site, such as rain water catchment tanks, all of the exterior doors (of course they’re exotic), as well as almost all of the light fixtures we’ll use throughout. To top it all off, I received confirmation that our building kit is set to arrive by October. To say that I’m excited is an understatement, but with all of this comes an insane amount of stress due to new timelines & worries regarding unforeseen expenses.

Now, you may be thinking, why on earth did all of that take so long? I’ll be the first to admit that it was a bit naive on my part to think we could actually get this entire endeavor off the ground by August. I didn’t quite grasp the scale of the project until I began visiting the land and laying things out. Five acres is really big! You’d think I’d be more familiar with that dimension since we reside in a farm and ranch community, but I’ve never owned a ranch and I never paid much attention when my uncles sat around and talked crops.

As soon as equipment is on site actually moving the dirt around, I’ll share an in depth, behind the scenes post about the entire planning & loan process. But for now, I’m leaving you with these beautiful images from our Collective inspiration board aka Wish List.
