It’s that time of the month again where I get to share my local favorite bizz. This time I’m happy to share with you Asian Bistro. Because of the high Lao refugee population in Amarillo, traditional Lao food, thankfully, has been easy to find. For days I’m not up to cooking Asian Bistro has been my go-to.
I’ve tried my fair share of Lao restaurants around town, but Asian Bistro is just *chef’s kiss* and reminds me a whole lot of my own family’s cooking. Many of my friends have taken my recommendations and are now loyal customers! So, if that doesn’t say how good the food is, I don’t know what will.
Their menu includes Lao staples like Lao Sausage, Larb (meat-based salad with herbs), Tam Mak Hoong (Papaya Salad), and Khao Piek Sen (chicken noodle soup) just to name a few. My personal favorite is Lad Na which are flat noodles served with Chinese broccoli, your protein of choice, and flavorful gravy. If you’re ever on the east side of town or have a craving for bright and fresh food, head to their restaurant on the Boulevard! You won’t regret it and will probably even find your new favorite cuisine.
