That Monday morning alarm after a well-spent weekend is usually met with the click of the snooze button and a harsh reminder that it’s time to get back to reality. Add that with a week or two of unintentionally mistreating your body to late nights, indulging in too many drinks, and missing out on your gym sessions and your body will be asking for a little extra love.

Whether it’s self-care apps, new smoothie/juice recipes, a new workout class, or a motivating way to drink more water, read up on some of the wellness pick-me-ups our girls are using this June.

2020 was a hard year for me (and the world), but it was also the year I finally took my mental health seriously. At the end of last year, I stumbled on this app called, Mine’d. Every day different wellness experts lead live sessions on the app. Whether it’s family life, love/relationships, sex, money, or purpose you can find these topics discussed all in one place.

1. Mine’d App
This app has definitely kept me grounded during many uncertain times and it’s free! Some of my favorite experts to listen to are Branden Collinsworth and Mark Groves.

I usually listen while I get ready in the mornings and it’s easily become the favorite part of my day.

2. Venture Pal Large 1 Gallon/128oz Motivational Water Bottle
If you’ve been into the shop, you’ve probably seen my pink, gigantic 1-gallon water bottle at the cash wrap. It’s definitely a conversation starter, to say the least (haha!). This water bottle feels like carrying a toddler around, but it really does help me increase my water intake with the time markers and I’ve noticed I tend to drink way less water when it’s not near.

3. Shower Diffuser
Steamy, burning hot showers are how I show myself some love after really long days. A few months ago I got the Oasis Shower Diffuser from our From 6th Collective House line and it’s changed the game for me. I am a fan of hanging eucalyptus on my shower head, but honestly, it was never as fragrant as the Shower Diffuser is.

It’s been my current go-to on the tiring days or hard training sessions, I always feel refreshed and relaxed after.

1. Celery Juice
One of my favorite ways to incorporate more veggies is by juicing. My go-to juice is a healthy blend of celery, cucumber, limes, ginger and turmeric powder to top it off. I usually try to make a big batch that way I can just fill up a cup and head out the door.

I’m a sucker for anything with ginger in it because of its bitterness, so the juice might not be for everyone, but it’s hands down my favorite blend of flavors to drink.

2. Taking Daily Vitamins
I probably should have been taking more vitamins long ago but I’ve fallen off a bit. After I got COVID in September, I lost my taste and smell for around 7 months. I read online that Zinc could help get it back so, on top of a few other vitamins I started taking it. My current daily vitamins are Zinc, magnesium, biotin, keratin, and vitamin C.

3. Skincare Routine
To be fair, I’ve made sure to wash my face every morning and night for as long as I can remember, but when the pandemic happened I had extra time to look into what specific products can do for your skin.

I’ve now incorporated Retinol, 10% Glycolic Acid and the holy grail – an SPF moisturizer.

There’s a few other products that are apart of that routine but these three, have changed my skin so much in the last 7 months.

From what I have learned, via YouTube and countless beauty articles. The process of cleansing is: remove, cleanse, hydrate, moisturize/ protect.

To be specific:

Kat

As I’m sure many other people can empathize, 2020 was the hardest year of my life. From wedding postponements to my health taking a turn, there was plenty of stress apart from a global pandemic. During this time I had to take a hard look at the unhealthy coping habits I had formed over the years (What’s up, comfort food?!). Stress can take a toll on you in more ways than one, and having so much alone time – especially while on bed rest – I was forced to confront the changes happening in my life. I started taking my mental health seriously, for the first time in my life, and began to understand what “wellness” actually meant for me personally.

  1. Better Help

I cannot stress enough how much finding a therapist has been a game-changer for me. Better Help has an entire community of professionals who can help with anxiety, depression, grief, addiction, life changes, etc. I believe that it truly takes courage to ask for help – even if you just need a neutral party to be a sounding board while you vent – and doing so has been extremely beneficial to my mental health.

2. IPSY

IPSY is a beauty subscription that delivers personalized products straight to your door, making it easy to test new products and try new brands. I have discovered so many different brands that I absolutely love, and I’ve found products that have now become my go-tos every single day! I look forward to picking out my new beauty bag shipment every month. The best part? It’s only $12.

3. Pain Relief

I suffer from a chronic illness, Endometriosis. The symptoms can be debilitating, especially when it comes to pain. I found myself using narcotics as a crutch to help me get through flares more than ever, and I was desperate to find some alternatives. I scoured the countless #EndoWarrior instagram accounts to see what others were using to help, and I found some products that I carry with me EVERYWHERE I go!

Wildflower CBD Relief Stick

This little helper is packed with a high concentration of CBD and packed with essential oils to combat aches and pains.

Foria Wellness

Foria Wellness is a hemp company that prides themselves on sustainability and their high-quality products. I have used their pain-relieving bath soaks and Relief Suppositories. If you suffer from Endo, painful sex, or if you have menstrual cramps, you should give Foria’s holistic products a shot! You can shop their Pain Relief Collection here.
