I’m sure you’ve heard someone say “this town is awful” or “we don’t have anything cool” at some point when talking about Amarillo. You may have even said those things yourself. I most certainly have off and on over the years. When it all comes down to it though, I really do love this small city we call home. To say that it doesn’t boast some of the coolest and most unique businesses around just wouldn’t be honest. In order to make our case, we’re starting a feature called Local Love where we take a minute to share some downright cool businesses you may or may not know exist right here on the high plains.

Narrowing our top brick + mortar businesses down to one for this month’s post was insanely difficult. Several of our favorite spots in town are our business neighbors, located right here on Sixth Street. We plan to start there and move out, which leads us to today’s feature- The Roseberry.

Snuggled in between an antique shop and 806 Coffee, this small business packs a lot of personality. We first met Dirk & David, the owners, when they became  vendors at The NAT a few years back. After a while, they developed a regular rotation of customers who came in just for their product, so naturally, we were thrilled to see them take that momentum and open the doors of their very own shop. Their style changed a bit during the transition, but in a good way. The new shop includes paintings, jewelry, and other handmade goods created by various local & New Mexican artisans. They also showcase amazing bath/body products, vintage western wear, and even an impressive selection of craft beer! Sixth is a place best spent walking from shop to shop on a sunny day, but making the detour just for a shop this fun is well worth it. See you on Sixth!
