You’ve heard it before, “teamwork makes the dream work.” It’s super cliche, but it couldn’t be more true. Without the hard work our team does behind the scenes, we wouldn’t be where we are today.

If you’ve been in, you’ve probably seen our friendly faces. This is who we are behind the mask (both literally and figuratively!). We hope you enjoy getting to know more about the awesome gals who help keep the dream alive.

KASEY

What three traits define you?
Motivated, Social, Caring

What is your personal philosophy?
Never let someone tell you something won’t work when your gut says otherwise. Cast a wide net, keep your mind open, & have a big heart.

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
My team

What are you listening to/reading these days?
Trying to read, not listen, to two books every month. I’ve been on a fun novel kick lately. Burrowing Owl being located in The Collective makes achieving my reading goal so much easier!

What is the greatest challenge you have had to overcome in your life thus far?

Losing my mother when I was a senior in college. It’s what brought me back to Amarillo in 2009.

What is the one thing you cannot resist? (food/dessert/candy/etc.)
Tony’s Mini chocolate bars

What is your greatest fear?
Failure

Where is your favorite place to be?
Anywhere with my family & friends enjoying good food.

What is your favorite thing to do?
Bringing my creative ideas to life!

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
This is tough! I love to travel and find each place special. Top of my list however would probably be Bali. I loved the people and the culture so much. And those beaches! Hands down the best reef I’ve ever explored.

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
I worked as the fabric library organizer for Robert Allen while in college. I’d categorize thousands of tiny fabric swatches for hours on end. Most would have hated the gig, but I was always inspired by the innovative materials and intricate designs so I stuck with it for 1 year.

Who is your biggest inspiration?
Sarah Sherman Samuel. I love that she’s established herself as a household name in the design world. She recognizes good design when she sees it, regardless of cost. A lot of designers choose items solely because they’re expensive. I also love watching her balance raising two toddlers while appearing on magazine covers. Goals right there!

What would you do (for a career) if you weren’t doing this?
I’d love to be an international buyer for a niche home decor company. I’ve always wanted to meet and visit the places that the products I sell originate in.

You’re hosting a dinner party. Who are the 3 people, living or dead, who you would invite and why? What would you serve?
My three favorite Instagram finds who just so happen to be friends themselves. Bri Emery (Design Love Fest) because I’m amazed by all that she’s accomplished in the creative world at 30, Denise Bovee because she’s the life of any party and I feel like we could be soulmates, and Jessica Kraus (House in Habit) because she’s just a straight-up cool mom of 4 rambunctious boys who spends her time stalking Southern California’s most unique houses whether they’re vacant or not. Ha! I’d serve tapas and tequila because DUH!

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
I’d love to know what it feels like to be a full-time artist. Someone who doesn’t have to maintain anything but their creative flow.

KAT

What three traits define you?
Loyal, Spontaneous, Creative

What is your personal philosophy?
“Hustle and heart will set you apart”

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
My family and friends. They are my biggest support system.

What is the greatest challenge you have had to overcome in your life thus far?
The greatest challenge I’ve had to face has been my journey having Endometriosis. How to adapt and survive when the going gets tough has been my biggest struggle, but also my greatest triumph.

What is the one thing you cannot resist? (food/dessert/candy/etc.)
Oreos! And probably queso, if we’re being honest.

What is your greatest fear?
FOMO. But like, for real. Even when I was a kid, my mom would put me in time-out because she knew the biggest punishment for me was being left out of what everyone else was doing. Haha!

Where is your favorite place to be?
Sharing a meal with people I love! There is nothing better than some quality time with the people who matter most.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
I’ve lived in a lot of different places around the US, but I think my favorite place I’ve been to on a vacation was Toronto. It has a very diverse community, which makes the culture of the city so much richer. Art exhibits, all different kinds of delicious food, new experiences. It’s truly one of the best places to visit. I like to joke and say that it’s NYC, but less dirty. Haha!

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
I worked as a dog agility trainer when I was young! If you know me, you know I LOVE dogs. I still remember the first dog I trained was a little young Basset Hound named Charlie. His floppy ears would drag on the ground when he trotted around. Absolutely precious.

Who is your biggest inspiration?
Is it cheesy to say, my boss? Haha! Kasey and I have been working together for almost NINE years! She has one of the most incredible work ethics and being able to glean from her creativity, passion, and get-shit-done-attitude has been invaluable. She is my biggest cheerleader. I wouldn’t be who or where I am today if it wasn’t for her!

You’re hosting a dinner party. Who are the 3 people, living or dead, who you would invite and why? What would you serve?
David Bowie would be one. I’ve always loved his music, and his death hit me harder than I ever would have expected. I’d also probably invite Dave Chappelle. One of my favorite comedians and I feel like we would have so much to talk about. And if Chappelle and Bowie are at the same party, you know it’s going to be a rager! I’d also invite Aubrey Plaza. Sometimes a party needs a wild card! We would all eat the best Tex-Mex we could find and enjoy ALL the cocktails.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
Can I join a famous band? Give me all the extravagant stage-wear and costumes, the after-parties, a European tour. I’d like that.

SELINA

What three traits define you?
Friendly, Light-Hearted, Resilient

What is your personal philosophy?
“Do what you want and pay no attention to what others have to say.”

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
I’m extremely thankful for my supportive family.

What is the greatest challenge you have had to overcome in your life thus far?
Mending my relationship with my dad when he was diagnosed with Kidney disease and then watching him go through the hardships of the disease over a 10-year process was really hard. He passed in 2018

What is the one thing you cannot resist? (food/dessert/candy/etc.)
Good Salsa and pickle juice

What is your greatest fear?
Losing my sense of hearing.  I am a big music lover so that would be tough!

Where is your favorite place to be?
Monterey, California

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
The West Coast-my dad took me on some of the most beautiful car rides along the Norcal Coast.  Seeing such beautiful sights always reminded me of how small everything is in the big picture.

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
Working as an Early Head Start teacher was so much fun but I did run across some silly situations.

Who is your biggest inspiration?
My mother for sure-she is my example of strength and resilience.

You’re hosting a dinner party. Who are the 3 people, living or dead, who you would invite and why? What would you serve?
Fiona Apple, Scott Weiland, Thurston Moore(Really, the whole Sonic Youth band).  They are some of my favorite musicians whose music is poetic to me. I’m not sure what I’d serve, the Chef would have to make some suggestions.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
I’ve always thought it would be cool to work in management at a Neiman Marcus, but I also have a big heart for animals so it would also be cool to work at an animal rescue.

JACKIE

What three traits define you?
Passionate, Creative, Emotional

What is your personal philosophy?
“Live to eat all the good food with good people”

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
Music. It really does make life so much better, I can always relate certain songs to specific “chapters” of my journey.

What is the greatest challenge you have had to overcome in your life thus far?
Losing my mom and my sense of family at the age of 21. It’s definitely made me stronger, but I sure do miss my momma.

What is the one thing you cannot resist? (food/dessert/candy/etc.)
French Fries–I don’t discriminate, but my favorite are crinkle cut!

What is your greatest fear?
Failure (cue my existential crisis*)

Where is your favorite place to be?
I really love New York. A lot of people don’t understand why, but there’s truly something magical about it. It sounds super cliche but the energy is unmatched.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
It was very short-lived, but Amsterdam for less than 24 hours during a layover to Laos. It was so beautiful, every corner was charming. And I like to joke that the people sound like they’re talking like Sims.

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
This job wasn’t weird, but a true deviation from my “degree.” I worked as a receptionist at a kids gymnastics center. I always thought I could never work with kids, but it made me realize how much I enjoy being around them and watching them learn new skills. I definitely got attached to them and it was the hardest part about leaving.

Who is your biggest inspiration?
My mom of course! She’s overcome so much in her lifetime and endured more than I could ever imagine. She inspires me to work hard, stay humble, and keep going when it gets tough.

You’re hosting a dinner party. Who are the 3 people, living or dead, who you would invite and why? What would you serve?
There’s the saying “never meet your heroes” so hopefully these three people would be lovely in person, but I’d invite over my current IG girl crush/fashionista, Amy Serrano, SZA, and Issa Rae. I feel like it would be good vibes all around. I would serve fresh seafood tostadas and a super indulgent dessert.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
A famous chef or an editor at Vogue. I love food! Could you imagine being able to come up with the most creative dishes with the best ingredients? I also really love fashion and have always dreamt of being a fashion journalist. I used to spend hours at Barnes + Noble and on fashion blogs before Instagram was a thing, ha!

KAYLA

What three traits define you?
Creative, curious, and spontaneous.

What is your personal philosophy?
Forget all the reasons why it won’t work and believe the one reason why it will.

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
A creative outlet of some sort. If I have nothing else, I’d at least want to have some sort of way to create. Paintings, sewing, photography etc. Anything, I just need it, always.

What is the greatest challenge you have had to overcome in your life thus far?
Making the conscious decision to begin living for myself and working towards my future. It felt selfish at first but once I let go of that fear and the fear of being judged I’ve been so much happier. I’ve accomplished so much since making that decision and I regret nothing.

What is the one thing you cannot resist? (food/dessert/candy/etc.)
Rice. Literally any type of rice, Spanish, fried, white, brown, steamed, sticky. IDC. Give me all the rice.

What is your greatest fear?
The fear of losing myself for or because of someone or something.

Where is your favorite place to be?
Downtown in any city. There’s something about tall buildings and busy streets that makes me feel like I’m in a movie. I also love being outside so if there’s an opportunity to sit on a patio downtown looking over the skyline, I’m in.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
So far Mexico has been the best place I’ve traveled to. Especially when I was younger and visiting the hometown of my parents and other family members. That was bitter-sweet. So much history and culture to take in, it’s hard not to love it!

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
Working at an online watch company at the age of 20. I found the job on my university’s career database. I learned a lot but that was the first time I had worked for a start-up and I had a hard time describing my position to people because I wore many hats at the job. I’m thankful for it because it has prepared me for the past 4 start-ups I’ve worked for haha.

Who is your biggest inspiration?
My mom and dad. My mom is my biggest fan and supporter and I hope to be just as nurturing and patient as her when I have kids (maybe). My dad is a hustler, he’s never not working and truly made something of himself!

You’re hosting a dinner party. Who are the 3 people, living or dead, who you would invite and why? What would you serve?
I’d invite Rihanna, Alexander McQueen, and Martine Rose. I’d just like to pick their brains about business and fashion. It would be an interesting dinner party, to say the least, but I think there would be so much valuable information being discussed and I’d love to be there to take it all in. Business, fashion, iconic figures – sign me up. I’d have any dish made by the Italian chef, Massimo Bottura.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
I’d love to be the Creative Director for one of the major fashion houses. Preferably Dior but I’m not picky. Also, a bit gruesome but I’d love to be a homicide investigator. I don’t know how I feel about the sight of blood but I think it’d be an interesting job to solve a crime for the day. But like I said, just for one day… I think that’s all I could handle.

ANNA

What three traits define you?
Artistic, Empathetic, Tired

What is your personal philosophy?
Be patient with others, and don’t forget to be EXTRA patient with yourself because you’re always growing and learning. Harboring hate does nothing for you except make you miserable. Put as much kindness into the world as possible because we need it.

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
My dog and my two best friends. They’ve done so much for me and I don’t know where I’d be today.

What is the greatest challenge you have had to overcome in your life thus far?
Becoming independent and vocal about what I won’t tolerate in my life anymore. I learned that sometimes having a family means keeping those people around that truly love you and help you be the best version of yourself.

What is the one thing you cannot resist? (food/dessert/candy/etc.)
Anything with potatoes. Pan Dulce. Really good pastries. I know if I had better access to a panaderia right now then I’d be in trouble.

What is your greatest fear?
Ticks? Any type of primate? Monkeys and apes are way stronger than us and I’d rather not be anywhere near one.

Where is your favorite place to be?
At home relaxing. I am very much a homebody.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
Mexico. It’s kind of another world. My family is a big part of it, they are the most loving and kind people. If I could move down there I would. There’s so much to learn and it’s a place I’ve found the most peace at. The food is a huge bonus and the beautiful mountains and land. I definitely want to go back and capture my mom’s small ranch, its history, and the people.

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
I’d say a nail salon receptionist. I had to get by on my, then, botched Spanish. I also had to be able to tell the difference between Acrylic and Dip nails with no nail tech experience whatsoever. (This detail wasn’t included in the job description.)

Who is your biggest inspiration?
My mom, mostly, but in reality, it’s any woman of color that has broken boundaries made specifically to stop them.

You’re hosting a dinner party. Who are the 3 people, living or dead, who you would invite and why? What would you serve?
Harry Styles, Bad Bunny and my mom. I’d invite Harry Styles and Bad Bunny because I think they would be very genuine to talk to and hang out with. Conversations would be HAD, let me tell you. I’d invite my mom because I love her and I haven’t seen her in so long since the pandemic started. She’s also very cute and lovable.

I would serve aguas frescas to drink, the food would be the gorditas my mom makes, and desert would be fresh pastries from Frank’s Bakery. 10/10 will always recommend.

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
Being a backup dancer for Beyonce. I wish I was good at dancing, honestly. After watching the Homecoming documentary I fell in love with dance even more. She just created an environment of inclusion, support, and creativity. Everyone was %100 present and killed it on that Coachella stage.

PRESLEY

What three traits define you?
Sassy, Independent, Wild

What is your personal philosophy?
Show love, spread love. 💖

What’s one thing you couldn’t live without?
Music, 100%. It gets me through my best and worst times, and I couldn’t imagine a world without it.

What is the greatest challenge you have had to overcome in your life thus far?
Just learning to be happy with me, the good and the bad.

What is the one thing you cannot resist? (food/dessert/candy/etc.)
My grandma’s chicken and dumplings, I could happily eat them every day of the week!

What is your greatest fear?
Staying stuck in my hometown forever. I want to travel, meet new people, experience new things!

Where is your favorite place to be?
At a music festival or show with my closest friends.

Where is the best place you’ve traveled to and why?
The US Virgin Islands. It was the very first time I ever got to experience a beach and it was such an incredibly beautiful island to be on. All of the locals were really kind as well.

What’s the weirdest job you’ve ever had?
I worked at a little hippie smoke shop for a few years and met a lot of interesting characters, and even lived in a small house in the back yard during my time there!

Who is your biggest inspiration?
My mom. She can fix just about anything, she’s sassy, smart, and never lets anything get her down.

You’re hosting a dinner party. Who are the 3 people, living or dead, who you would invite and why? What would you serve?
Griz, because I would need some funky saxophone and good vibes at my dinner party. My best friend Emily, because DUH she’s my best friend and I always want her around, and

If you could do another job for just one day, what would it be?
When I was younger I always wanted to be a kindergarten teacher, maybe not so much anymore but I think it would be fun to experience it for at least one day.
